The Bothy

2 bedroom luxury holiday cottage.

As you enter the Bothy you are greeted by colour, comfort and an array of mod cons.  You have a spacious open plan living area combined with a kitchen and dining area.  All come together with comfort and luxury at every turn.

The vaulted ceiling and oak beams dominate upstairs, where you will find two beautifully elegant and comfortable bedrooms and a modern luxurious bathroom. Outside you can sit in your own cottage garden.  Relax on the farm, or pick up the country trail at your front door and venture out. The vineyards, beaches, country pubs, and the glorious South Downs National Park beckon you.

The wonderfully comfortable Ercol sofa is surrounded by 3 equally comfy chairs all donned with an array of bright colours cushions. Relax in front of the TV, connected up to Amazon, Netflix, Youtube, BBC and more. Or light up the wood-burning stove, throw on some logs and let the flames enchant and warm you. Or spoil yourself and do both!

If you’re feeling a little peckish then step into the luxurious, well-equipped kitchen – microwave, induction hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and a full complement of crockery, glassware and cutlery. It’s all there. Dine at the beautifully painted kitchen table – every chair is a different classic colour and it all comes together to in technicolour harmony.

An oak door leads to a delightful cloakroom with rich blue tiled floor, vessel basin onto of a rustic table with hand-painted legs in teal (it’s actually Vardo - one of those fancy named paints from Farrell and Ball!). Above the toilet hangs a cupboard of bit and bobs including some the Tetley Tea folk!

Behind another oak door, you will find the games cupboard with a collection to entertain for friends and family. Its big cupboard so useful storage space for those travel bags as well.

Heading up the oak staircase you enter into a world of elegantly curved oak beams and vaulted ceilings in the landing and bedrooms.

The first bedroom with its eclectic mix of old and new. From stripped back oak floorboards with divine underfloor heating to a 50-year-old Ercol armchair clad in divinely soft sheepskin to the centre-piece of the antique double hand-painted in Vardo this is the perfect place to recuperate after a day in the great outdoors.

The second bedroom beckons you with its star hanging up high. Either side of a lovely antique table are simply wonderfully single beds.

A sliding (and even soft closing and opening) oak door leads to the enticing shower to invigorate yourself. Antique pine cupboards and shelves give you all the space you need to store all your bathing and beautifying bits and bobs.

Head back down and out of the front door onto your courtyard where you can breakfast, lunch or dine or fire up a BBQ for some flamed grilled delights. Just around the corner don’t be surprised if Nellie and Maggie, our two shaggy Shetlands ponies, aren’t up at the gate some 20ft away beckoning you to come over and visit with a cheeky carrot or three.

Both upstairs and downstairs has underfloor heating – even the understairs cupboard just in case you want to stay warm whilst hiding there playing Hide and Seek!

The eco-warriors amongst you will love the solar panels, eco flush toilets, recycling bin and double glazing throughout, high spec insulation and air tested to the most demanding regs and external power points to enable you to charge up your electric car.

Across the courtyard, within one of our barns, you will find a laundry room with washing machine and dryers. There is also a recreational space including a Bonzini football table that came out of a Parisian café some 15 years ago. Enjoy! Some spare wellies and coats are available here in case you forgot to bring some.

It goes without saying all heating and hot water is provided together with linen and super soft towels.

Mingle with your fellow holidayers – there is an equally luxurious cottage next to yours - or do your own thing and venture out and explore glorious West Sussex.

You have direct access to footpaths and bridleways which take you through our farm and out into the beautiful countryside beyond. As you venture out of the farm you will notice our ponies. We run a private stud where we breed native ponies. If you are lucky you may even see a foal!

As well as our ponies we have 4 dogs, 4 farm cats, 2 sheep and many chickens so a lot going on around the Bothy.
