What to do
Beaches
Brighton Beach and Pier – 45 mins.
Brighton beach is the quintessential British beach. The Pier, with rides and an arcade, to the smell of fish and chips.
Make this a day out to visit the vibrant Brighton. Our family favourite is browsing the vintage shops in the Laines.
Goring/Ferring Beach – 35 mins.
Quieter than Brighton, this beach is our closest choice for sunbathing, swimming and BBQs on the grass behind the beach.
Pebbles with sand depending on the tide.
West Wittering Beach – 1 hour.
Further afield, but well worth it for this lovely, sandy beach.
Blue Flag swimming zone.
Parking can be expensive/require pre-book at the moment, so check in advance.
Other
Arundel Lido - BN18 9JG, 30 mins.
Lovely swimming pool with views of Arundel Castle.
Petworth House and Park - GU28 0AE, 25 mins.
A beautiful National Trust mansion and park.
If you’re lucky you’ll spot one of the many deer.
Arundel Castle - BN18 9AB, 30 mins.
Even after many years, Arundel Castle still seems like CGI to me.
Sitting above the beautiful town of Arundel, this castle is well worth a visit.
Make it a day by browsing the charming little streets and vintage shops below the castle.
Also 5 minutes away is the newly created Brew House Project for fantastic beer, coffee and food.
Brighton – The Laines, 40 mins.
Our favourite shopping/lunch/sight-seeing spot. The Laines are full of vibrant and unique shops and restaurants.
Walking around feels like a big open-air art gallery/market. Snap up a pair of vintage Levi Jeans or browse one-of-a-kind art or jewellery.
We can give you specific shop/restaurant recommendations (just ask) but if you find anything exciting – let us know!
